Special Educational Needs Policy
The school has a Special Educational Needs Policy.
It is our aim that:
Every child with special needs is identified as soon as possible after entry to school and thier needs addressed professionally.
Children who already have a statement of Special Educational Needs are integrated fully into the life of the school and are given the support to help develop them to their full potential in all curricular areas.
We give every child a sense of self worth, confidence and the knowledge that they can achieve.
Practise within school:
Special Educational Needs are covered through a two stage process. School Based Assessment is completed first and many children remain at this stage. If a child`s needs require additional support other agencies may be brought in and this is called School Based Plus. At Badsley we involve parents at each stage and invite them to attend a review of their child`s progress each term.
Equal Opportunities:
All children with special Educational Needs will receive the necessary care and attention within the constraints of school life to excel in thier personal, social, educational and spiritual development.
All children are welcome regardless of creed, colour, gender and ability.
Outside agencies are involved as necessary. Parents are kept fully informed.
